My name is Deb Campbell. I live in a senior manufactured home community in Ionia County, Michigan. Since our park was bought, rents went up, and pet and garbage fees were tacked on. A lot of seniors don't have the income to account for these increases.

In our county, only 4 of the 17 parks are still owned by mom-and-pop-type owners. In the last 5 years, nearly 60% of the communities have been sold to or between corporate owners. Many seniors here are scared to death what will happen next. Having community friendly ownership would be a huge relief.

There are countless examples of alternative community ownership models that prove there are options besides corporate ownership. We need community friendly alternatives to ensure we all have a safe and secure place to call home and don't have to live in fear of losing our homes.
